A six-month fisheries diploma course completed at Ghizer Campus; certificates awarded to 55 students With the support of the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund (PEEF), the six-month specialized diploma course in Fisheries and Aquaculture at Karakoram International University Ghizer Campus has been successfully completed. According to the Public Relations Department of KIU, 55 male and female students were provided with state-of-the-art training during the course. A grand ceremony was held at the Ghizer Campus to mark the completion of the course and the distribution of certificates. The event was attended by officials from the KIU Financial Aid Office, representatives of the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund, senior administrative and teaching officers of the Ghizer Campus and a large number of graduating students. Addressing the ceremony, the Director Ghizer Campus Dr. Shahab ud Deen paid rich tribute to the vital role of PEEF. He appreciated PEEF’s initiative of offering courses aligned with modern requirements and providing scholarships to promote higher education and research. Dr. Shahab added that along with education, skills-based training is the need of the hour, as it enables young people to become employable. Participants of the ceremony termed the efforts of PEEF and the KIU administration as a guarantee of a bright future for the youth of the region. On the occasion Chief Audit Officer PEEF Mr. Faisal Shehzad and Manager Scholarship PEEF Mr. Attur Rehman, Director Financial Aid KIU Mr. Shahid Ahmed Shigri, Mr. Muhammad Ashraf PS to VC, Assistant Director FAO Mr. Alamgeer Hussain distributed certificates among students. Before this, the cheque amounting to Rs. 2.5 million was handed over to the Director Financial Aid KIU and the Director Ghizer Campus by the PEEF official.
