The British Council has awarded 17 Scottish scholarships to outstanding students of Karakoram International University (KIU) as part of its continued commitment to higher education in Pakistan. The scholarships, amounting to Rs. 40 million were distributed in a special cheque distribution ceremony held at KIU main campus. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq, Convener of the Scholarship Committee/Director QEC, Mr. Muhammad Arif, Director Coordination & Estate Care and Mr. Shahid Ahmed Shigri, Director Financial Aid. During his address, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq expressed his gratitude to the British High Commission for their generous support, particularly in empowering young women through education. He remarked, “This scholarship program is a testament to the British Council’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and supporting talented students at KIU.” Mr. Shahid Ahmed Shigri provided insights into the scholarship program and encouraged students to maintain their academic excellence. He emphasized, “These scholarships are an investment in your future. Continue to strive for excellence and make the most of this opportunity.” This initiative further strengthens KIU’s mission to provide quality education, ensuring that deserving students receive the necessary financial support to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.
