KIU Distributes Cheques Among Flood Affected Students

Karakoram International University (KIU), in collaboration with AI GEO Navigators, organized a scholarship cheque distribution ceremony under the Flood Relief Support Initiative, providing financial assistance to 94 flood-affected students from across Gilgit-Baltistan. Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq attended the ceremony as the chief guest. The event was also attended by Ms. Azra, Regional Manager of AI GEO Navigators, representatives of the organization, and senior academic and administrative officials of the university. Speaking on the occasion, Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq appreciated the valuable contribution of AI GEO Navigators, the Financial Aid Office, and the Provost Office in facilitating the scholarship programme. He encouraged students to remain focused on their education, assuring them that the university would continue to provide every possible support to help them achieve their academic goals. Earlier, Director Financial Aid Office, Mr. Shahid Ahmed Shigri, and Provost Dr. Qamar Abbas briefed the participants on the scholarship initiative, explaining that the program aims to provide financial assistance to students affected by recent floods and to express solidarity with them during challenging times. Addressing the ceremony, Ms. Azra, Regional Manager of AI GEO Navigators, reaffirmed the organization's commitment to continuing its collaboration with KIU and supporting initiatives that promote educational access and student welfare. The scholarship recipients included students from Ghizer, Diamer, Baltistan and Gilgit regions who were affected by the floods. The initiative reflects KIU's continued commitment to ensuring that financial hardships do not hinder students from pursuing higher education.
