Ghizer: A team from the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Punjab led by its Director Mr. Muhammad Majid Mustafa Khan, along with Director Financial Aid KIU Mr. Shahid Ahmed Shigri visited the Ghizer Campus, where the delegation held a special meeting with students and briefed them about the Chief Minister’s Honhaar Scholarship Program and the opportunities available under the initiative. On the occasion, Director Ghizer Campus Dr. Shahab us deen, along with faculty members, warmly welcomed the delegation and visited different sections of the campus. The Director Ghizer Campus also gave a detailed briefing on the academic and administrative affairs of the campus and apprised the delegation of the key issues, challenges and financial issues being faced by the campus. Speaking on the occasion, Director Honhaar Scholarship Mr. Majid stated that efforts would be made to allocate a specific share of the Honhaar Scholarship for students of the Ghizer Campus. He particularly highlighted the significant number of female students enrolled at the campus and said that efforts would be made to take up the matter with the Government of Punjab so that eligible female students from Ghizer Campus could also benefit from the scholarship program. The team also held a special meeting with a delegation of students. The students presented their concerns, demands and suggestions to the delegation. The Honhaar Scholarship Director assured the students that their genuine demands and issues would be conveyed to the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Provincial Minister for Education for consideration and possible resolution. At the conclusion of the visit, Director Ghizer Campus Dr. Shahab ud Din and his team presented the visiting with traditional caps and Shanti, as a gesture of respect and hospitality. The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction between the HEC Punjab team, campus administration, faculty, and students, with particular focus on expanding scholarship opportunities.
